2020 Mercedes-AMG A35 4MATIC is the new access door to the world of Driving Performance of Mercedes-AMG. Based on the new Mercedes-Benz platform, it is powered by a completely new 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine.
The new Mercedes A35 4MATIC debuts, a model that enriches the AMG range with a truly captivating version. The Mercedes A 35 4MATIC thus becomes the entry-level model of the AMG range and, thanks to the development that took place simultaneously with the A 45 4MATIC, boasts a true AMG DNA. The car cornering behaves very well – we will explain later in detail – and so does in the most difficult driving situations: about the targeted reinforcement measures that have made the front even more precise.
2020 Mercedes-AMG A35 4MATIC Engine Specs
The 2.0-liter turbo engine is a new concept and is based on the new M-Class four-cylinder M 260 engine. The innovative engine convinces with the speed in response to the accelerator pedal pressure, the high capacity shooting (400 Nm of maximum torque from 3,000 rpm), progression and sound. The die-cast aluminum base, sturdy and light, reduces the weight of the car in key points for excellent driving dynamics. The 306 hp and 400 Nm engine is combined with the seven-speed dual clutch transmission and the fully automatic four-wheel drive, which allows the A35 to shoot from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and touch a top speed 250 km/h.
The body has been stiffened in the front, while the suspension maintains the MacPherson pattern in front and the multilink with three levers and a half back. The variable damping dampers (available on request) have three levels of calibration instead of the two in Class A. Returning to the engine, it should be remembered that it is equipped with a twin scroll turbo which optimizes the use of exhaust gas pulsations. There are many parameters revised and improved and one of the aspects that transpires, after having traveled a few kilometers on board the Mercedes A35 AMG is that cornering is done with a disarming speed.
2020 Mercedes-AMG A35 4MATIC Interior – With MBUX
Internally, the A35 cabin a sports steering wheel, equipped on request with two selectors with built-in display very useful for managing the driving mode and other useful functions. The MBUX system, always on request, can be equipped with the AMG Track Pace, a sort of virtual track assistant, as defined by Mercedes engineers.

On the road, the 2020 Mercedes-AMG A35 4MATIC behaved very well. Tested on the roads around Palma de Mallorca and not on the track (what would be its natural habitat), the compact sport has certainly not been prayed and has put on display all its dynamic and speed. So much is precise and stable that even at high speeds it seems almost to go slower, which could represent a kind of danger for the license if you do not throw the eye to the speedometer. The Sport and Sport + modes are the most exciting, those that enhance the sound and performance of the AMG A 35 4Matic engine. The steering is very precise and the level of comfort is very high, even though we are talking about a sports car designed for everyday use.
