The test drive of the 2019 Kia Picanto X Line with 101 hp 1.0 T-GDI three-cylinder engine has allowed us to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the Korean compact, marketed with list prices starting at € 15,050.

A city car with a nod to crossovers, the Kia Picanto X Line is available with a 101 hp 1.0 petrol turbo engine. Just this setup is what we tried in our test drive, during which we tested the performance and consumption of the small Korean characterized by black plastic guards in the lower body area and in the arches of the wheel arches. The Picanto X Line stands out for the aluminum insert in the bumpers and for the raised height of 15 mm (the height from the ground of this version is therefore equal to 156 mm).

Among the most interesting options, we mention the automatic emergency braking system contained in the Advance Driving Assistance package.

Agile and snappy, the Picanto has been our travel companion for a few weeks, during which time we tried it practically in any situation and on routes of all kinds. From the narrow streets of the city center to long journeys, but also country roads and faster suburban areas. In all these surrounding the 2019 Kia Picanto X Line has shown grit, indeed if you push a little ‘more on the accelerator consumption tend to increase up to 13 km / l. Being more careful and driving in a very quiet, we found an average value of 16 kilometers with a liter of fuel. The visibility is very good both frontally and sideways, while the rear one is not completely satisfactory.
