The propeller house has been working for a few years now on the new generation of 2019 BMW 1 Series. The three-volume Bavarian debuts in 2019 and brings a big change: it will be in fact front-wheel drive. Here are the first official photos of the BMW 1 2019 series.
2019 BMW 1 Series Redesign
It was in the air for some time and renderings were not lacking. The 2019 BMW 1 Series will debut in 2019, with a long series of novelties starting with the acronym UKL1. It is the same platform used by series 2 Active Tourer and MINI, therefore characterized by the front wheel drive. Several types of research among the owners of the series 1 currently on the market have in fact shown that most of the customers are already convinced to drive a car with the front wheel. An excellent advertisement for the DTC and ASC controls of the German three volumes, true, but at the same time a warning bell for Monaco.
Developing a rear-wheel drive means generally reducing the boot and penalizing internal living. All for the BMW claim the pleasure to drive, but to be more competitive on the market you need to set aside a bit of that romance. A true and sincere sin as far as we are concerned, the series 1 is one of the few cars with rear-wheel drive usable in daily and affordable price.
If in Monaco they decided to take this road, however, it means that all the evaluations of the case, even economic, have been made.
The 2019 BMW 1 Series series shows itself for the first time in these official images that highlight a sports line and more generous than the previous version. The car is low from the ground and has a wide roadway. Probable also a M version if we consider, among other things, the double terminal seen in the forklifts surprised during the last months on the track at the Nurburgring. The silhouette remains aggressive and stretched forward, with the long bonnet to which we are accustomed.
With regard to the engines, BMW will use the new three and four cylinders, both as regards gasoline and Diesel. It is also expected a hybrid version, which could justify the change of platform as a search for space in order to insert the battery pack and the electric motor.
